Ode To Bulletin Boards

Today I've linked up with Ashley at Schroeder Shenanigans in Second and Angie at Lucky Little Learners to talk about bulletin boards as part of their #2GetherWeAreBetter linky party.

Ok, so if you've ever decorated a bulletin board in your life, then you know it takes a bit of work to make it look cute. Heck, they can be a giant pain in the bootay. But when they're done, the "oohs" and "aahs" make the hassle totally worth it. Well, in my opinion anyway! ;-)

These last 2 years I've had to share a classroom with our Reading Specialist so my creativity was pretty much limited to bulletin boards. I love colors and seasons and holidays and characters... so I tried to embrace all of that on my boards. The kids LOVED them. Other teachers were jealous. And though I stayed well past working hours to get them finished, they were a true labor of love.

Here are a few of my favorites (some of which used the whole hallway instead of just the bulletin board):

These are just some of the many boards of done, and the many boards to come. I hope you enjoy decorating your boards as much as I do. Here's my tip: have fun with it! Don't stress about being perfect. Chances are, the kids won't even notice if your border wasn't straight, your letters don't match the border, or your font isn't fancy. They are going to LOVE whatever you do. Anything is better than plain white walls and boring blue bulletin boards!

Would love to hear what your favorite thing is about bulletin boards. Let me know in a comment below. And thanks, again, for stopping by. Enjoy the rest of the linky party... and don't forget to come back next month. The topic: CLASSROOM REVEALS!!!!

  1. So cute! I teach just reading as well. I really like your boards! Thanks for sharing!

  2. Sorry I hit back accidentally and it repeated my comment for some reason.
